Why a song about suicide? Well a few years ago I found out that a former pupil of mine had committed suicide. I think she was around 18. She was lovely, funny and cheeky, especially in lessons. I just imagined she would leave school, go to college, get a job, and have a family, all the usual stuff.

When I heard the news, I just couldn't understand why. What could have been so bad? Was there no one she could talk to? I went online to try and find some more information. I discovered some words from her mother and I just cried .Her sense of loss and pain was too much for me. I needed to write a song.

The song is from the mother’s point of view. Any monies raised from this song will go to www.youngminds.org.uk
